The swatch book
Nobody arrives at a paint counter able to recall the six colours and the paper they liked at eleven o’clock last night. The swatch book is where you put them as you find them, so that when you get to 41 Bridge Street the list is already in your hand.
Every colour and every wallpaper on this site has a + on it. Press it and that colour is on your list. Nothing to sign up for, no email address, no account: the button is the whole of it.
Give the list rooms if it helps, and put each colour in one. You can note the finish and the tin size against a colour too, if you already know them. If you don’t, leave them blank. That is the question we most like being asked.
Open it at the counter and press Counter view: big swatches, names and numbers, readable across a shop. We’ll pull the colours, talk through the finishes, and tell you honestly if one of them is going to fight the light in that room.
The list is kept in your own browser, on the device you made it on. We don’t hold a copy and we couldn’t read it if we wanted to. There is no account behind it, so there is nothing for us to lose.
The two consequences are worth knowing. Clearing your browser data clears the list. And a list made on a laptop is not automatically on your phone, which is what the next part is for.
Ours is a stone building on a Surrey high street and phone signal inside it is what it is. So the swatch book is built to work without any: the page, the colours and the pictures are all saved to your device the first time you open them.
On a phone you can add it to your home screen and it opens like any other app, straight to your list, in about a second. There is nothing to install from a shop and nothing to update.
Built the list on a laptop? Press Open on my phone and you get a code like AL-8WVJ2B and a square to scan. Put the code into the swatch book on your phone and the list comes across, joining anything already saved there rather than replacing it.
A sent list sits on our server for 180 days so it can be collected, and is then deleted. The same code works if you would rather email the list to yourself.
There is a screen by the paint wall with every colour we stock on it, and it builds the same list. Start one there, send it to yourself before you leave, and carry on at home with the colours you were holding an hour ago.
