Cole & Son · Inspiration
Cole & Son show Bonsai Garden in a kitchen.
Cole & Son’s own room, and their paper. The paints are ours, matched to the colours in it. See it on Cole & Son’s site →
Roughly the proportions we’d use: most of the room in one colour, a third of it in the woodwork, and about a tenth of it brave.
Walls
Little Greene · No. 164
Picks up the paper’s ground, a shade lighter so the pattern still leads.
Woodwork
Farrow & Ball · No. 292
Taken out of the pattern itself, not off the wall: skirting, doors and panelling.
The room and the paper are the brand’s. The paints are ours, matched to the colours in the paper — so printing, lighting and your screen have all had a go at them before you see them. Treat them as a shortlist worth sampling rather than a decision, and bring the paper and a sample pot together in the room, in daylight, before you commit.
See It In Person
The sample book for Bonsai Garden is on the shelf, and the Brush Boards are on the wall. Come and hold them together at 41 Bridge Street, Godalming.
