Mylands began in 1884 when ‘Honest’ John Myland set up his modest shop in the heart of Lambeth, South London. Unlike other paint makers of the day, John insisted on using only the very best materials that would allow him to create colours that were flawless, with a quality that had rarely been seen before.
Still Britain’s oldest family owned paint and wood polishes manufacturer, they believe that the decades of paint and colour expertise have helped them become true paint pioneers. Their colourists take great pride in their craft; creating timeless colours that are still sumptuous rich in depth and formulations that are thick, lustrous and easy to use. and in 1985, Mylands received the ultimate accolade – a coveted royal warrant.
Originally being the paint of choice for interior designers, decorators and scenic artists working in film and television, when in 2012 their paints were made available to consumers for the first time with the launch of ‘Colours of London’ 120 timeless colours, London-made and inspired.
